Pre-searing Pets
Baught the game yesterday and am totally hooked. My buddy rushed me through me first character and i seared as a level 2. By the time i got to level 11 last night i realized i better start over because i didn't learn any skills that i needed and it was useless paying for them. Anyway, now that I have started over with my R/Mo i wanted to get a pet early so that he levels up with me. Can anyone give me some tips on getting a good pet and where to find them. Id rather stay away from the birds but if thats the only thing i can deal with that. Thanks!

Your best bet in pre-searing is probably the stalker you get from doing the ranger quest.

well in pre sear you can get wolfes, warthog, moa birds, stalker and bear but bear is hard to charm so... melandru's stalker you should be able to get from second ranger skill trainer he sets you on a quest to get one umh warthog should be near the pond outside of ascalon and wolves should be roaming the field outside of ashford abbey thats being wormed
edit whoa 3 people posted ahead off me o.O |

Every single pet you'd be able to charm in pre-searing, you can get in post-searing. You'll also find that every skill you miss, you can earn from one single quest in post-searing.

Stalkers are all over ashford, and generally all over pre-searing. I'm not sure if you can tame them though, and I'm not sure if you're talking about Melandru's Stalkers or just Stalkers (the chicken).

The birds you can charm--I did, and I loved him!--and you don't need anyone's help to charm the melandru's stalker (catlike animal). You just follow the quest instructions. Stalkers begin at level 5, and will eventually even out with your level even if you are below lvl 5. The birds begin at level 1, yet they level faster to catch up to you.

Just, if you get a bird, please don't name him KFC - everyone names thier bird that, it's really annoying.
If you're looking for warthogs, they tend to spawn around the lake near the bull, but if that isnt working, get someone to do the Across the Wall quest, warthogs abound there. |

Really, all the pets are just about the same. So I would just go with the cat since you will get him for a quest, you might as well keep him.

The stalkers also start at a higher level than the other pets you can find in presearing, and give a more immiedate benefit.
While pets are MOSTLY the same, they have small differences... I'll try to find a table for you guys. |
